Tanner

Hi! My name is Tanner. I am 22 years old and I just graduated with a Healthcare Administration degree from Stonehill College. This is my third full summer on the island working with BI Babysitters! I am fully vaccinated, CPR and first aid certified, and have access to a car while on Block Island. My experience with children started when I became an older sister. I became their babysitters on a regular basis along with many of my cousins. From there I became a neighborhood babysitter gaining a lot of experience with kids at a young age. I really enjoy life and being goofy is one of my favorite things to do with children. I am very active with the children I babysit- whether it's going to the park or beach, making up games, taking hikes (looking for glass orbs!), or walking to get ice cream :)

Andreea

Hello,I'm Andreea ! I am 23 years old and I study medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Grigore T.Popa" Iasi, in Romania. I am a 5th year medical student and I am passionate about everything that means pediatric pathology. I have done a lot of practice in pediatric psychiatry, neonatology, oncology and in my spare time volunteer at a center for children with special needs(Down syndrome). I consider that every child is a blessing from God and we as adults must help him to grow good roots, to grow up nicely, to encourage them to dream big and to support them in all their plans, but also the obstacles that appear in the way. I will support the children to feel good, to do useful activities and to dedicate all my energy to them. Because of my great love for surgery, I have attached here a picture of me before a surgical intervention that I attended (a mother donated her kidney to her child). I have experience with ages newborn and up. This will be my second summer with BIB, I can't wait to meet you and your family!

Hi, my name is Ashanti!  I have been working with children for as long as I can remember. I am from a large family and I have always babysat for my younger cousins. I also volunteer with the James and Friends Education Programme in Jamaica assisting children from volatile communities. In 2022 I worked as a camp counselor for The Fresh Air Fund and was voted Top staff! I am CPR & First Aid Certified and have completed a water safety course. I love to do art and crafts, play the drums and teach the children about my culture. This is my third season working with BIB. I’m very excited to spend another summer on Block Island and meet many new families!

Hello! My name is Kimmy and I am 20 years old. I am from Massachusetts and am entering my junior year at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York. I am a double major in Business and Econ. I have been coming out to Block Island for as long as I can remember. I am the youngest of four siblings and we all grew up exploring the beautiful parts of BI. This is my fifth year with Block Island Babysitters and I have experience with children of all ages. My favorite things to do is go to the beach, surf, hike, and play sports. I am more than happy to take kids to the park, beach, or nature trails around the island so they can experience the island like I did growing up out here. I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi! My name is Amy. I am 35 years old & originally from NY. This is my second summer on Block Island and I love spending time outdoors - especially here! I have over 15 years of childcare experience having previously been employed as a preschool teacher, full time nanny, babysitter, daycare provider, swim instructor/lifeguard & a cheerleading coach. I am comfortable with all ages, and have experience with multiples as well as special needs & health issues including severe allergies. Some of my favorite activities while babysitting are arts & crafts, baking, going on walks and visits to the park! I have my own car on the island & am CPR & First Aid Certified. Hi there and welcome to Block Island! I’m Hannah, I’m 21 years old and I’m from Kansas City, Missouri. Go Chiefs! This is my first year with BI Babysitters, and I bring with me many years of experience with children of all ages, and specialize in children with special needs. I have access to car on the island, and I am CPR certified. I have spent 3 years as a student assistant in classrooms at an elementary school where my mom works as the school nurse. I have a passion for teaching children, while having the most fun!  With me, children will not just be safe and well taken care of, but I will encourage them to learn and grow. I am a fun-loving and creative person who will give your children positive life-long memories of Block Island! I can’t wait to meet you and your family!

Hi, I’m Emily! I am 21 years old and am from Vermont. I graduated last year with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Business Administration and just recently moved to Block Island to work for the season. You might spot me in my free time out hiking and walking around the island, or kayaking on the water. I love being outside and especially showing kids how wonderful it can be to spend time outdoors. I have worked in a few summer camps, as well as a childcare center, and I am both First Aid and CPR trained. Since this is my first summer here, I can’t wait to meet new people and get to know the island more!

Hello, my name is Sofija. I am 23 years old student at the Faculty of Technology in Serbia. I went to High School of Medicine, majoring in pediatric nursing. I spent four years working with children where I perfected my skills in working with them. I also took care of children with special needs in the state center for neglected and developmentally disabled children. I learned to take care of children of different ages and different characters. I am also CPR and First Aid Certified. By nature, I am calm, tolerant and sociable. I like to meet new people and I am always open to new acquaintances and getting to know different cultures.

Hello! My name is Shea and I am 20 years old. I am from Massachusetts and will be entering my senior year of college at Liberty University in Virginia. I am studying elementary education in hopes to be an elementary school teacher. I am the youngest of four siblings and we have been coming out to Block Island since I was a baby. It is my favorite place on Earth! We love exploring all of the beaches and nature trails that beautiful Block Island has to offer.  My favorite things to do are sports, going to the beach, walking the trails, arts and crafts, and fishing. I would be more than happy to do all of these things with your children! I work with kids regularly throughout the school year in classrooms. I have a majority of my experience with kindergarten through fourth grade aged children. I am CPR and first aid certified and safety is my top priority. I am excited to meet you and your children this summer!

Kallie

Hi, My name is Kallie. I am a 21 year old who is currently in the process of completing an undergraduate honours degree in Psychology. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I have been working with children and teens for a number of years now and have developed many different skills to aid in with communicating with them. I have worked as staff for children play-spaces where I was responsible for looking after multiple children aged 4-13 and I also have experience working as a youth ambassador leader where I did after-school programs for children aged 14-16, amongst other age groups. I also grew up as the family babysitter for my cousins, nieces and nephews since they were born. I also have extensive experience in housekeeping and cleaning and I look forward to spending the season on Block Island,  meeting new people and creating new connections.

Hey! My name is Brianna. I am twenty one years old and from Kingston, Jamaica. Shortwood Teachers College is where I am presently pursuing early childhood education. I have extensive expertise working with babies and toddlers. I volunteer at children's homes and aid them as needed. Working with children is my passion, especially seeing them learn and attempt new things. I regard each child as an individual whom I have the opportunity to assist, grow and teach. I love working with children and getting to know them and their individual personalities. I also enjoy watching children grow, learn and face new challenges in school and life in general.  My strengths as a nanny are that I am very responsible, reliable and caring person. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I am passionate about furthering my time in the Nanny field so that I can continue doing what I love and broadening my experiences.

Hi, my name is Leonarda and I am 23 years old. This year is my final year in a college of Physical therapy in Croatia, and I also have a degree in Kinesiology. In my home country I have experience in babysitting kids of 3+ years old. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I love being around kids because it makes me feel more joyful, playful and positive. I feel like everyone could benefit of children energy sometimes because we tend to be stuck in adult world, and we often forget how to play and have fun. I am a very active person, who loves to play sports, be around dogs, and outside in the nature, exploring. This is my first year on Block island, but for sure not the last!

Hello, i'm Bojana. I am 19 years old and i am studying at the university of American College in Skopje, Macedonia, I am studying architecture. I am entering my second year in October. All my life i have been surrounded by children, who i've given all of my love and care. I was always the babysitter for my little cousins who were the ages of 4 and 8 and my mother's friend's child from the age of 3. I am passionate about providing a creative, exciting and nurturing habitat and activities for the little ones. I’m also very organized and I strive to create a clean, safe environment for your child. I have my certification in CPR and First Aid. I’m looking forward to babysitting in my free time, because I love making connections with new people. Hi I'm Lashanda and I am 26 years of age. I came to the island this summer as a chef. In my spare time I wanted to babysit. I used to be a volunteer teacher at Greater Portmore Basic School in Jamaica. I also have 10 months experience as a nanny and in addition to that I grew up with many younger family members who I helped care for. I have a 4 year old son, Orion, whom I take the best care of. I am CPR and First Aid Certified in Children, Infants and Adults. I am a kind, loving, caring and a compassionate person born. I was raised in Jamaica, but I travel and work to support my family who mean the world to me.
