Tanner

Hi! My name is Tanner. I am 22 years old and I just graduated with a Healthcare Administration degree from Stonehill College. This is my third full summer on the island working with BI Babysitters! I am fully vaccinated, CPR and first aid certified, and have access to a car while on Block Island. My experience with children started when I became an older sister. I became their babysitters on a regular basis along with many of my cousins. From there I became a neighborhood babysitter gaining a lot of experience with kids at a young age. I really enjoy life and being goofy is one of my favorite things to do with children. I am very active with the children I babysit- whether it's going to the park or beach, making up games, taking hikes (looking for glass orbs!), or walking to get ice cream :)

Hi, my name is Samantha, I am 31 years old and I'm from Honduras. This is my second summer on Block Island working with BIB and I am so happy to be back. I have two children of my own one is 5 years old and the other is 10 years old. I have experience with infants and children of all ages. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I always make sure the kids have fun in a safe way. We can learn a lot from each other. I look forward to having fun with your children while you enjoy an evening out!

Hello,I'm Andreea ! I am 23 years old and I study medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Grigore T.Popa" Iasi, in Romania. I am a 5th year medical student and I am passionate about everything that means pediatric pathology. I have done a lot of practice in pediatric psychiatry, neonatology, oncology and in my spare time volunteer at a center for children with special needs(Down syndrome). I consider that every child is a blessing from God and we as adults must help him to grow good roots, to grow up nicely, to encourage them to dream big and to support them in all their plans, but also the obstacles that appear in the way. I will support the children to feel good, to do useful activities and to dedicate all my energy to them. Because of my great love for surgery, I have attached here a picture of me before a surgical intervention that I attended (a mother donated her kidney to her child). I have experience with ages newborn and up. This will be my second summer with BIB, I can't wait to meet you and your family!

Hi my name is Najah and I am 28 years old. I am truly happy I have found my way to Block Island. My love for teaching started when I was just a child and has grown over the years. I am CPR and First Aid Certified and I have 7+ years of childcare experience. This experience includes : being a paraprofessional / teacher assistant , caring for infants, working as a behavioral therapist inside of homes , being a camp counselor , coordinating summer / afterschool programs etc. I believe that children are extremely intelligent and when given the right tools , they can express this intelligence. Some people pass of babysitting as a simple task , but I aim to provide a fun, yet teaching environment for the children in my care. I look forward to spending time with your little ones : )

Kevisha

Hi there! I’m Kevisha but most people call me Kev. I am a 19-year-old college student pursuing a degree in Secondary Math Education. With experience working with children of all ages, from babies to teenagers, I bring a nurturing and engaging approach to babysitting. I’m also an avid sports player, which means I can bring a lot of energy and fun to playtime. I have also worked an entire season at a sleep away camp in Florida. I was trained to facilitate the ropes course and to take groups of children swimming and kayaking, where they enjoyed these activities safely. Another role was overseeing a section of the day called "Super Awesome Funtime," where I was in charge of all different sports for an hour each day. Being CPR certified and trained in ropes course facilitation, I am well-prepared to handle various challenges and ensure the safety and enjoyment of those I care for. My diverse experiences help me connect with kids and create enjoyable and enriching experiences for them. Hello, my name  is Andrine, this is my first season on Block Island and I’m looking forward to a great summer. I  have had the pleasure of helping out my aunt as she was the founder and head of an early childhood institution back home. I had the privilege to bond with each, whether through learning their ABC's, coloring, singing or simply playing.. I love to interact with each child because they all have different little personalities, I am also comfortable with working with all age groups. I am a from the  beautiful island of Jamaica where we often hear the saying "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD ".. I would love to be a part of your village to help in the best way possible to mold your child or  children.. I am certified in CPR and first aid... Hello, my name is Leonarda, and I am 24 year old Croatian girl. I am a senior in my university studying physical therapy and I have a degree in Kinesiology. My whole life I have been very active, playing sports, and doing a lot of different outdoor activities. I love to be in a nature, be adventurous and explore different areas. This is my second year working as a babysitter on Block Island. I had a very nice experience last year so I wanted to do it one more time as this is my last year studying. I also have my CPR and First aid certification completed. I am looking forward to meet new families this year and have fun playing with the kids.

Hello my name is Nina. I am from Croatia, a small country in western Europe with a beautiful coast and sea. I am in my 4th year of University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business, direction accounting and auditing. My hobbies include riding horses and long walks with my dog, also I am interested in books, socializing and nature. I have cared for my two little nephews since they were both babies and many children of family friends. I also have experience with eldercare. I know how to adapt to any situation and the age of the child. My goal is for everyone to be happy and to have as much interactive and engaging fun as possible. I have studied Sports Sciences and now I am finishing my masters degree to become a teacher. I love children and I have a lot of experience caring for them. In addition, I have worked as a life guard for four years and hold a CPR and First Aid Certification. I am passionate about sports and nature. I am a very active person, I love doing all kinds of activities, I will make sure the kids have a safe and fun time!

Hi! My name is Amy. I am 35 years old & originally from NY. This is my second summer on Block Island and I love spending time outdoors - especially here! I have over 15 years of childcare experience having previously been employed as a preschool teacher, full time nanny, babysitter, daycare provider, swim instructor/lifeguard & a cheerleading coach. I am comfortable with all ages, and have experience with multiples as well as special needs & health issues including severe allergies. Hi!!! My name is Cassidy. I am currently 22 years old and recently graduated from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. I was on the varsity division 1 track and field team and a fellow of Team IMPACT. I am fully vaccinated, and CPR and first aid certified. When it comes to experience with kids, I have been around them my entire life. From coaching preschoolers in gymnastics, to teaching dance lessons, to taking on the role of babysitting my own younger brother. I like to consider myself to be funny, high-spirited, and always ready to have a good time. I am a very active person and love to keep busy. This is my second year being a part of the Block Island Babysitters. When babysitting, I make it my goal to keep the children occupied and happy whether that be going to the beach, taking a walk/hike around the island, getting food, or even playing board games. Hello! My name is Ella and I am 21 years old. I just graduated from Wake Forest University with a double major in Biology and Spanish and a minor in environmental studies. I am moving to New York City this fall to start my graduate school program at Columbia but will be on Block Island until then. I have grown up spending every summer on the Island for as long as I can remember and it is absolutely magical. For many years, I've babysat for people in my hometown and out on the island, as well as a summer that I spent as a full time nanny in Connecticut for 4 kids that were all under 8. I love children of all ages, making up games, getting active, letting them relax, and spending time creating memories especially in such a wonderful place like out here!

Hello! My name is Mila, I am 21 years old and this is my first summer on Block Island. I am on my second year of studies for psychology in Serbia, where I'm from. I have experience working with toddlers and kids with special needs. I think my understanding for kids started from having a huge family, that later transferred to wanting to work with kids. I was a nanny for an American family last year for two children ages 6 months and 4 yrs. Hi I'm Kimone! I am a vibrant 19-year-old from Jamaica. I am very passionate and creative. I'm dedicated to becoming a primary education teacher, inspiring young minds and nurturing their creativity with the same love for learning that defines my own journey. I have been surrounded with children all my life and have extensive experience working with children. I worked as a camp counselor last summer, I was responsible for leading groups of 11 children each week, ensuring their safety and well-being from Sunday to Friday. Through this experience, I developed strong leadership and communication skills, learning how to adapt to different personalities and needs.
